About me
Hello, My name is Carl and I am currently 23 years old. I have been working for Hair Club for Men since March 7, 2011. I have a lot of passion for web development and take my career very seriously.
There are a numerous ways of describing what I do, 'back-end web developer', 'back-end engineer', or just plain old 'web developer.' These are probably the most common titles for the business environments that I generally work in but I've also been called a 'web guru', a 'coding genius', a 'webmaster' or 'code-nut' and a few more obscure or choice titles.
It all boils down to the same thing: I write advanced code that makes websites function and perform with extreme efficiency. I concentrate on developing light-weight, ultra-fast, object oriented code that will simply rock your world. I'm the guy who sits in some dark cave of your workplace, with no sunlight or fresh air, and converts coffee and mountain dew into the very words that make computers obey my every command. While I certaintly can design sites and use photoshop pretty well, if I do say so myself, I still prefer to develop the 'cool' features you see everywhere. As a developer, I make sure that my code works and renders correctly for all browsers except ie6 and ie7 (if your site has low traffic from ie7 clients).
I know my way around the templates and views of numerous web languages and frameworks. A lot of people ask me if I use prewritten libraries and tools, like jQuery and WordPress, for things on my site or my clients' sites... Simply put, I'm the guy capable of writing jQuery or WordPress and I hate using bulky code that's not mine. While code might be boring to you, I take extreme measures to ensure that my code is beautifully written and 'up-to-par' in every way possible.
I've worked on several big-name companies like Godiva Chocolatier, Organize.com, Hair Club for Men, Superior Nut Store, and One Way Furniture. Currently, I'm concentrating on rebuilding HairClub.com the right way.
Oh, one last thing... If you aren't viewing the site in Apple Safari, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, you really need to stop what you're doing and download one of those browsers.
